Code of Conduct

Code of Conduct

We believe that a stay in the Surf camp offers an ideal time for participants to come together in a spirit of fun and friendship. Our code of conduct is based on shared tolerance and respect among everyone staying at the camp.
The camp is a place to make friends, have fun, learn and enjoy new positive experiences.

We might have put together a list of the things that we can and must do while at the camp, but that would require a large amount of time and space.
A simpler and more succinct option is to consider the things we cannot do while at the camp. We list these below:

Bullying behaviours will not be tolerated. This includes any behaviour that isolates, is disrespectful or humiliates another participant. Bullying will be considered serious misbehaviour for both the instigators as well as anyone who supports them.

Leaving the premises without being accompanied by a responsible person will also be considered misbehaviour.

Treating monitors, teachers and camp personnel with respect is obligatory. Offensive acts against camp staff are not allowed. At the same time, camp staff must also not treat any participant in a disrespectful, threatening or offensive way.

There are different ways of being disrespectful to other people. One way is to devalue the work they do.

Boys and girls are not allowed to visit each other’s rooms and are not allowed to undertake inappropriate relationships or behaviours with each other. Inappropriate comments will also not be tolerated.

Acts of vandalism, theft of another person’s belongings or reckless actions will be considered serious misbehaviour and will require parents or guardians to be informed.

With regard to the use of mobiles, music players, video games and the like, their use is prohibited during classes and activities. Our advice is to refrain from bringing them to the camp. However, we recognise that the final decision regarding these devices is not ours to make.

Our main objective, in addition to having participants enjoy their stay, is to safeguard their safety and well-being. For this reason, we believe it is necessary for parents and guardians to communicate this code of conduct to children who would like to participate in the camp.

Thank you for your cooperation.
